Elder Sean C. Polk

Elder Sean is a faith filled teacher and devoted believer whose devotion to Jesus and humanity radiates through his every action. His spiritual journey began in earnest in 1985 when he accepted salvation and in 1991 underwent a life-changing spiritual metamorphosis as a member of the From the Heart Church Ministry, formerly known as the Full Gospel AME Zion Church, under the mentorship of Dr. John A. Cherry.

His pursuit of knowledge led him to the University of Maryland, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Afro-American Studies in 1994. He then used his knowledge to educate others as the Bible Studies Teacher at Full Gospel Christian School for middle and high school students. 

In 1995, he answered God's calling to "feed the flock of God," dedicating his life to serve in various ministry positions. He became a guiding light for the Youth and Young Adult Ministries and was the reliable minister on-call for the Full Gospel's Wednesday Noon Service.

In 2009, a new chapter of his life began when he, along with his family, joined the Harvest United Ministries under the guidance of Bishop John Morgan Lewis. By 2012, Elder Sean had received his ordination as Minister of the Word from Bishop Monroe R. Saunders Jr., the Presiding Prelate of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic). 

Since he arrived at UCJC, Elder Sean has collaborated with numerous churches within the organization, becoming a highly respected speaker at Sunday services, Midweek Bible Studies, and church conferences. His topics of choice include faith, marriage, singleness, leadership, youth and young adult ministry, and the empowering presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

Elder Sean champions the belief that "teaching should continue until understanding is achieved," he earnestly fulfills his duty to "feed the flock willingly and set a positive example." Away from the pulpit, he shares a blissful life with his wife, the virtuous Minister Stephanie A. Polk, since 2001, and takes immense pride in their two remarkable sons, Sean Christopher II and Connor Graham.
