My Bio

Elder Sean Polk is a passionate teacher of God’s Word and a devoted follower of Jesus Christ with a heart for serving God and His people.

His spiritual journey began in 1985 when he accepted salvation at Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church in Reidsville, North Carolina. In 1991, his relationship with Christ deepened when he became fully committed to following Jesus as a member of From the Heart Church Ministries, formerly Full Gospel AME Zion Church, under the leadership and mentorship of Drs. John and Diana Cherry.

Elder Sean attended the University of Maryland, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Afro-American Studies in 1994. During this season, his passion for teaching Scripture began to take shape as he served as a Bible Studies Teacher at Full Gospel Christian School, teaching and discipling middle and high school students.

In 1994, Elder Sean answered God’s call to “feed the flock of God” and committed himself to a life of ministry and service. Over the years, he served in a variety of ministry roles, including leadership within the Youth and Young Adult Ministries and as the minister on call for Full Gospel’s Wednesday Noon Service.

In 2009, Elder Sean and his family began a new chapter in their spiritual journey when they joined Harvest United Ministries under the leadership of Bishop John and Co-Pastor Ernestine Lewis. In 2012, Bishop Monroe R. Saunders Jr., Presiding Prelate of the United Church of Jesus Christ (Apostolic), ordained him as a Minister of the Word.

Since joining UCJC, Elder Sean has ministered alongside numerous churches throughout the organization and has become a trusted voice in Sunday worship services, midweek Bible studies, conferences, and other ministry gatherings. His teaching emphasizes faith, marriage, singleness, leadership, youth and young adult ministry, practical Christian living, and the transforming and empowering presence of the indwelling Holy Spirit.

In 2025, Elder Sean and his family were led to join Bishop Saunders at Transformation Church, where he continues to serve and strengthen the Body of Christ through teaching, discipleship, and ministry with humility, excellence, and love.

Beyond ministry, Elder Sean treasures his calling as a husband and father. He and his wife of 25 years, Minister Stephanie Polk, are the proud parents of two young men, Sean Christopher and Connor Graham. His commitment to Christ begins at home and extends into his ministry as he seeks to live what he teaches and equip others to do the same.

My faith

Statement of Faith from Romans 12:1–2

We believe in one God who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are worthy of the same honor, worship, and obedience.

In view of God’s mercy, our daily worship is the offering of our whole lives to God as living, holy, and pleasing sacrifices.

We refuse the patterns of this age and pursue transformation through the renewing of our minds by Scripture, prayer, and the active work of the Spirit.

We accept that the Holy Spirit is God in us through His baptism.. As we receive Him, He sanctifies us, empowers us through His Gifts, and cultivates our character to conform to Christ.

With renewed minds, we discern, affirm, and do the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God in our homes, workplaces, and communities. This is our reasonable service.
